Recent FIFA rankings have placed Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions at the 50th position globally. This comes up after the Indomitable Lions whitewashed Malawi 4-0 and the Elephants of Ivory Coast 1-0 in their return leg, in the just-ended World Cup qualifications games.
The recent development, which was published on Friday, November 19, catapulted Cameroon from the 57th position to the 50th position on the FIFA classification table.
The Indomitable Lions leap-frogged the Elephants of Ivory Coast and the Black Stars of Ghana to rise to the seventh position in Africa, up from the ninth position.
Previously, Ivory Coast manhandled Cameroon by 2-1 in their first leg on September 6 in Ivory Coast.
Meantime, Senegal, Tunisia and Algeria remain the top three in Africa, while Somalia, Seychelles and Eritrea are the last three.
In the world classification, Belgium, France and Brazil top the chart, while the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla and San Marino carry the chart.
