Bafut-Tubah MP Reaches Out To Moslems

By Kevin Agbor

The Member of Parliament for Bafut-Tubah constituency, Hon. Oliver Agho, has donated some food items to Moslems in Bambui and Sabga on day-22 of fasting in the Month of Ramadan.

Fasting during this month of Ramadan, according to Moslems, is the fourth pillar of Islam as stated by the Holy Quran.

Talking to the Moslems in those communities, Hon. Oliver said that he pledged never to fail them.

“I will never fail you people. It is better to be late than never. So these items here are to assist you during this fasting period”.

Amongst the items donated, were 80 five-kilogram bags of rice; 100 packets of sugar; at least 35 buckets; six cartons of soap and blankets.

In reaction to the gifts, the Lamido of Sabga, Alhaj Mamuda Abdulai, said, “We are very happy that while we have been praying during this our fasting period, someone was thinking about us. You are a good example of a leader. You should continue with this spirit and your blessing is in the hands of God,” he added.

A sum of FCFA 130,000 was handed to the pupils of the primary school while FCFA 100,000 was also given to the elderly mothers.

This is not the first time that Hon. Oliver Agho is extending a hand of fellowship to the Moslem community in Sabga. He used the ceremony to ask the people of Sabga not to engage in actions that destroy places in the name of fighting for separation.
